To celebrate the end of the school year, Room 5 tamariki enjoyed a trip to Timaru this week, visiting Caroline Bay and enjoying the hydro slides and pool at CBay!

Gemma from Blind Sport NZ joined students from Rooms 13, 7, and 5 last week to give an insight into what sport might be like for the visually impaired.

In their final lab session of the year, M3 students got hands-on with a chemical reaction known as 'Elephant Toothpaste'! 🐘

This week, Middle School students have enjoyed the different facets of Activities Week, including a 'Tin Man' duathlon, Top House, and an Aoraki Mount Cook tramp.

With only a handful of school days left in 2023, now is the time to return your library books. 📚 Look under your bed, down the back of your couch and in your school bag. There is a return point at the library door, opposite the main office.

The Community Dental Service will be providing dental care for children enrolled with the service during the upcoming school holidays. The clinics will offer treatment and relief of pain sessions by appointment only. 🦷🪥

Twizel Area School Prizegiving Assembly will take place on Tuesday, 12th December 2023 at the Twizel Events Centre, beginning at 10 am. 🏆 It is an opportunity for parents, caregivers and whānau members to join us and celebrate the students' achievements.

As Wellbeing Wednesday wraps up for 2023, ākonga had a beautiful day to spend their weekly hour on activities promoting their well-being. 🧘 🎨 🎶

This week's Junior Assembly turned into a Badgeathon with 15 given out to students for WAKA Values, Peer Mediation, and PALS. Ka pai to all our badge recipients; what a fantastic effort! 👍

After being postponed due to the Power Outage Day, students in Room 5, M1 and M2 were lucky enough to have three members from North Otago Rugby come to TAS to run a rugby skills session.

Last week, M4 students visited the Dark Sky Project in Tekapo, delving into the celestial wonders to learn about our nation's rich astronomical history. This venture deepened their understanding of space and highlighted Aotearoa's heritage of exploring the cosmos through constellations.

The Twizel Community Library database is now available to browse online. Students in Years 7-13 and teachers can log in using their Google school account to see the books they borrowed in the past, what they currently have on loan, and even reserve books they would like to borrow.

The summer swimming season has started and the Junior School classes have all taken advantage of the pool opening, and this week's great Twizel weather. 🌞 🏊

This week, the Year Eleven PE class went on their final trip of a busy year. This trip had all the elements you would expect on a multi-day tramp. Our objective. To locate the Canyon Creek rock bivouac.

It was a great afternoon of athletics as eighteen Twizel students, along with students from other North Otago schools, competed at Centennial Park in Oamaru this week.
