Meet Head Student Kiara. She would like to introduce herself and update you on the goings-on so far this year, including the fantastic leadership day run by our student executive team. Kia ora everyone! My name is Kiara Thyne and I will be one of the head students for 2025. I wish everyone a late Happy New Year, and a warm welcome to those returning and arriving at our school for another productive year full of learning. We started the year with a fantastic leadership day for our year 11-13 students, run by our student executive team. This involved them participating in team-bonding activities, preparing and planning for their first house competition of the year which took place this Monday. Congratulations to Ruataniwha who came away with the win and well done to all those who took part! And another congratulations to all the rowers who took part in the South Island Champs this weekend! We look forward to this Friday when the TAS swimming sports will be held for year 5-13 students. This competition is always close and comes down to points of participation in the end so make sure to give everything a go! I hope to see Ruataniwha come out on top yet again. Kiara ThyneHead Student
