Room 5 students took advantage of a perfect Twizel spring day yesterday afternoon with a spontaneous trip to the river with Mr Metcalfe! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

We collected dandelions to throw into the river in order to measure the Twizel river current. ๐Ÿž

We sang to the birds with cuts of grass, we supported each other on the rope swing and again when crossing the bed of the river, and when someone’s hat unexpectedly ended up in a tree and all seemed lost to get it back, but Zavier found the right stick that was the right weight and length to knock it down to get it back. ๐Ÿงข ๐ŸŒณ

All this learning in one period!

Our tamariki were thriving on this outdoor learning experience which we are all so lucky is a hop, skip, and a jump away.
