Congratulations to the students and staff participating in the Bog Roy Rogain last weekend! Your grit and problem-solving skills demonstrated by all were truly commendable. Amidst the rugged expanse of the unforgiving terrain of Ōtematata, where the mountains stood as sentinels of challenge and the rivers whispered secrets of resilience, emerged an intrepid battalion known as the Twizel Area School Adventure Racing team - TASAR, for short. Four daring warriors stepped forward, their spirits filled with mana, bound together by the values that define our school: whānaukataka, awhinataka, kaitiakitaka, and ārahi. In the heart of the Bog Roy Station, a landscape that seemed to have been plucked from the tactical training grounds of elite forces, TASAR embarked on a mission unlike any other - a relentless rogaine event. With the spirit of whānaukataka, their unity was unwavering as they moved as one, drawing strength from each other's courage. Awhinataka guided their every step, their camaraderie akin to a supportive brotherhood, pushing them beyond their limits. With kaitiakitaka in their hearts, they navigated the terrain with a deep respect for nature's challenges, leaving only their footprints as they conquered each obstacle. And in the spirit of ārahi, they forged a path through the unknown, guiding one another towards victory with unwavering determination.Charlie - “it was challenging and fun the entire time. It was challenging to find all the checkpoints. I am definitely keen to do it again. “Bryn - “I found the experience enjoyable and exciting the entire time I was out there, and I want to do it again”Hazel - “I found it challenging, but I enjoyed it a lot, and I will definitely do it again in the future”Emma “ A great experience full of adventure and fun.
