Throughout this school year, Mrs. M has led a writing and art group comprising ten talented students ranging from Years 5 to 10. These students are in the process of writing some picture books for readers of all ages.

One of their projects revolves around the Kakī, a species close to our hearts. On Monday, April 8th, eight students visited the Kakī enclosure to gain invaluable insights into their habitat and behaviours, deepen their understanding, and draw inspiration. They were given an exclusive tour, witnessing firsthand the nurturing environment where baby Kakī are raised, as well as the spacious aviary where the older Kakī roam.

Throughout the visit, the Kakī's antics sparked the students' creativity and fuelled ideas for their picture book project. While we can't reveal too much just yet, rest assured that as the year progresses, you'll be seeing more updates on their journey.

Stay tuned!
