Welcome to the 2024 Twizel Netball Club Newsletter

Welcome to the Twizel Netball Club for the 2024 season. Our committee has been working behind the scenes to ensure we are all prepared for the season. Within this newsletter, you will find up-to-date information for the upcoming season and key information.

After our AGM on the 13th of February, we are excited to have Chelsea Lousley continuing as our President and Soffe Shaw as our Secretary. Sue Gardiner stepped down as our treasurer, and Kate Ivey filled that position.

Registrations

Registrations can be made through our sporty website: https://www.sporty.co.nz/twizelnetball

Subs

We want to acknowledge that due to fundraising efforts last year, the club can keep the subs the same as last season. This means the subs will be $40 for years 3/4, $80 for years 5-8, and $100 for years 9+.

Subs can be paid into the Netball Club bank account 06-0966-0060845-025, with your child's name as the reference. If you’re struggling to pay, don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

Club Day

This year, we will have a Club/Open Day. This will be on the April 14th from 1-3 pm.  It is for all club members to get together and provide an opportunity for coaches and parents to meet. The day will begin with a warm-up and some drills with Kate Ivey, followed by some fun games, snacks and more. More details are to come.

Key Dates

The season will begin on May 3rd for Juniors and May 4th for Seniors. The season will go through to August 9th for Juniors and August 10th for Seniors. There will be no netball on King's Birthday Weekend or Matariki (28th June) for Juniors.

Juniors will play the first weekend of the school holidays (5th July), but not the other weekends; they will return to playing on July 26th.

Senior netball will be played on the first and last weekend of the school holidays.

Fundraising

We are looking much better financially thanks to last year's fundraising efforts. We will be doing the Cadbury chocolate boxes again this year, and Hard Labour Weekend will be in October. Other fundraising events may also come up and information about these will be given to parents and players.

Uniforms & Hoodies

Once teams have been finalised, uniforms will be allocated to players based on the size indicated in the registration form. Dates & times for this are to be confirmed.

Practices

Practice days and times will be organised by coaches and managers once teams have been finalised.

Thank You

There are many people to thank for last year's successful season, including Cycle Journeys, Twizel Area School, and Sport Twizel & Cycle Ventures for the use of their vans. We would also like to thank all players of Twilight Netball whose subs went back into the club; without this we would not be able to keep our subs low and transporting our players to and from Oamaru

We hope that everyone is looking forward to the upcoming season.

Regards,
The Twizel Netball Club Committee
