Head and Deputy Students Billy and Fred look forward to a busy term ahead!

Kia ora,

Another week has gone past, and it is great to see everyone settling back into school life. Despite the short lifespan of this term so far, much has been going on where students have displayed the WAKA values. One recent event was the Whole School Cross Country, where students challenged themselves to run as hard as possible. To those who did, what an amazing job! Recently we also had photo day, while I’m sure many would prefer this to stay forgotten, Kia ora to those who held themselves and the school with pride!

This week we also have our first round of Snow Club participants departing for the mountains. Make sure to have fun up there! Senior school participants, remember: if you are a part of Snow Club, you must stay on top of your work and make up for the time lost. Monday the 31st of next week, we also have the Upper Waitaki Cross Country. This is the opportunity for the athletes in the school community to shine. Make sure to be respectful of your fellow runners and represent the school with pride! On the next day, Tuesday the 1st of August, Room 5 is travelling to the Dark Sky Project at Lake Tekapo. This is an opportunity for our younger learners to become inspired and fascinated with the universe around them, just remember to get your head out of the clouds when you return!

That’s all for this week; we hope to see people working hard as we adventure deeper into the infamously academic-heavy Term 3.

Kia pai tō wiki!
