Last week, the TAS Swimming Sports event proved to be an incredible day filled with enthusiasm, determination, and community spirit. It was fantastic to see everyone giving it a go, whether they were competing for top honours or simply floating down the pool with a smile on their face. The event showcased the true essence of participation, where every student embraced the opportunity to be part of the action.A massive thank you goes out to all the parents who attended. This was the largest turnout we’ve seen in the three years I have been in this role, and your support made a huge difference. Your presence on the sidelines, cheering on the swimmers, helped create an electric atmosphere that encouraged all our students to push themselves and enjoy the day.Our teachers also deserve a huge thank you for their dedication. They spent the entire day in the sun, timing races, supervising, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Their commitment to making this event a success does not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate their efforts in supporting our students. The competition was fierce, with all three houses battling it out for the overall title. In the end, Ōhau emerged as the champions with an impressive 181 points. Ruataniwha followed closely behind with 157 points, and Pūkaki put up a great fight, finishing with 138 points. Congratulations to Ōhau on their well-earned victory!Overall, the TAS Swimming Sports was a fantastic day, filled with memorable moments, outstanding participation, and a strong sense of school spirit. Thank you once again to everyone who made this event such a success – we can’t wait for next year’s competition!
