Students between Years 9 and 13 who succeeded at the recent High Country Athletics competed in the Aoraki Athletics held in Timaru last Wednesday. There was some incredibly tough competition, of course, with the sizes of the other schools. However, our students did an incredible job, with many getting places. Some of those students also got selected for the South Island Secondary Schools Athletics based on their results which is an incredible achievement to compete at an even greater level of sports excellence. Those students are:Dejay Parata - Under 14 Boys 800m (3rd)Sukrit Timilsima - Under 14 High Jump (3rd)Desmond Kahukura - Under 15 Boys Javelin (2nd)Jackson Parata - Under 16 Boys Long Jump (2nd), Under 16 Boys Javelin (2nd)Cameron Smith - Under 16 Boys Triple Jump (2nd)And finally, the Under 15 Relay Team came 3rd.Congratulations to all the students who were competing; you all did phenomenally!
