On Tuesday 7th of February, Twizel Area School welcomed our new students, staff and whānau with a Mihi Whakatau. This is a process to help Twizel Area School on our journey to embedding Tikanga Māori within our school.

Jack McLellan of Kai Tahu descent opened the speeches with a great whaikorero welcoming our manuhiri into our school. This was followed by a waiata tautoko. Jesse Purton replied with his whaikorero and the manuhiri joined him with their waiata of Tutira mai.

We are all very happy to welcome our new people into our whanau.
