Students have helped celebrate Matariki this year with weaving, plus we joined together with Twizel Kindergarten for an evening of songs and a banquet to share.

From the Twizel Kindergarten:

Thank you Mrs Sweney and your wonderful Music group for joining in our Matariki celebrations. This year we were joining together to acknowledge Ururangi, one of the seven sisters. Our gathering was representative of the Manaakitanga we value at our kindergarten which is hospitality, inclusiveness, kindness and generosity. The banquet we were treated to was evidence of the manaaki shared by everyone during the evening.

Room 9 students visited the Kindergarten where they weaved their whanaungatanga into the Kindergarten Matariki kite.

Room 13 students have been busy with some Matariki weaving using a cardboard loom, some fabric scraps and some treasures from nature.

These will be displayed at the Culture and Kai evening on Wednesday 30th June.
