Te Manahuna Aoraki DoC Ranger Visit

Twizel Area School recently hosted Te Manahuna Aoraki DOC Ranger Adriana Theobald and her Conservation dogs Julius and Slick, with Tom Smits, Angela Newport and her conservation dogs Sika and Macca.

The team talked to the students about conservation and the role conservation dogs have in helping the survival of taonga species. It was awesome to share their mahi and the students were really interested with lots of great questions.

Thanks also to KakÄ« Recovery Programme Ranger Marianne Marot who organised the day, and Meridian Energy who funded material and victor traps so each student in M1 can now build their own trap box to take home at the end of the term.

Big thanks also to support from Placemakers and Kiwi care (who provide the Victor traps).
