Gemma from Blind Sport NZ joined students from Rooms 13, 7, and 5 last week to give an insight into what sport might be like for the visually impaired.

The students had a lesson on guiding visually impaired students and got to try on the array of glasses that mimicked the range of different eyesight impairments that people might have.  They got an opportunity to play goal ball wearing the blindfold goggles.

Even the teachers took part in a short PD session after school to learn what services are available and the best ways to adapt PE or sports for our visually impaired students.
