Room 7 students have been exploring the connection between emotions and colours through poetry. From the warmth of happiness to the storminess of sadness, their words paint a powerful picture of how emotions can be expressed through the senses.

Here are some of their wonderful creations:

When I feel happy,
I feel Pink,
Like a toasted marshmallow melting in my mouth,
Or pink fluffy Candy Floss.

By Sophie Lee

When I feel Sad,
I feel Grey,
Like a whale stranded on the shore.
Or a rain cloud above my head.

By Seb Irving

When I feel Angry,
I feel dark red,
like a volcano erupting,
or a fire raging through the forest.

By Alice Larkins

When I feel Hangry,
I feel light red,
Like smashing a pavlova
Or eating a bush of raspberries

By Immy Ivey

When I feel disappointed,
I feel Grey,
like a bored puppy by himself,
Or a rain cloud trying to rain.

By Louis Feck

When I feel shy,
I feel Pink,
Like a flamingo burying it's head in the water,
Or a pink flower bundled up.

By Summer Smith
