Head and Deputy Students, Billy and Fred, look forward to the M3 camp while remembering their own experiences. They also have reminders about reports, Kāhui Ako, and other coming events.

Kia ora,

What a wonderful few weeks it has been here at school, we have had so many students participating and showing WAKA values and continuing to strive in different areas of learning, it has been awesome to see!

On Monday, we had the junior swimming display. This was an excellent opportunity for the juniors to show off their great swimming talent to the school and their families and what a great time everybody had!!

On Tuesday we had the Census which all of us had to complete by filling out the forms provided either by hand or on the computer. Today we had the Country High Schools Athletics so a special congrats to all those that took part, we cannot wait to hear back about how it all went. Starting Friday we have the SISS Rowing Regatta and also we have the teachers finishing off the Y7-13 reports published and ready for sending away.

On Monday next week, M3 students are away on their camp until Wednesday, we all hope it goes well. I am sure there will be heaps of great learning and achievements within the camp throughout the week. From past experience I remember I used to always love the camps, they were always a true highlight of the year for me. I loved the challenges and learning I got from each camp, the skills and knowledge were priceless. I remember struggling with how to tie several different knots but once I got them I had them and I still use those knots to this very day whenever knotting something. So good luck, have a load of fun!!, and learn heaps!!  There will be many great opportunities for all to express their WAKA values.

Thursday next week, teachers around New Zealand are holding a one-day strike. The Board of Trustees has written to the school community about this day and how it may affect us here at school: Letter from the Board of Trustees

We also have our Kāhui Ako Jumbo Day on Friday. This means no classes for Years 1-12, but teachers, support staff and Year 13s travel to Cromwell to meet with the Southern Area Schools for training.

Kia pai tō wiki, have a great week everyone.

Head and Deputy Students,
Billy and Fred
