Students taking Senior Foods this year have been busy learning new skills and improving their cooking knowledge, producing some fantastic items. 🥗🍕🍝


Level 1 students Travis, Lachlan, Lily, Poppy and Teihana have tried their hand at gingerbread houses, baking rewena bread, catering a healthy birthday party for Room 4 and just recently made a dish that has special meaning for them at Christmas, which they shared as a class.

Level 2 Hospitality students have been busy learning new skills around knife sharpening, they have learnt specific fruit and vegetable cuts such as paysanne and chiffonade, created fruit salads and a spinach and carrot salad. This term, they are working on a sandwich and baking unit, culminating in them making an afternoon tea for the staff and their whanau later in the year.

It’s been a busy year for them all so far… with lots more to come.
