Twizel Area School welcomed Chris Long, author of The Boy from Gorge River last week. He talked to students in Years 3-9 about his book, life, and travels. He talked to students in Years 3-9 about his work in Antarctica, growing up in Gorge River near Haast, and about his travels around the world.The students were totally engaged in Chris's storytelling and his ability to transport them to far-flung locations through his words. They had the opportunity to ask questions, seeking further insight into his adventures and the inspiration behind his writing.We express our thanks to Chris for his willingness to share his time and wisdom with our students. His visit certainly left an indelible mark on their minds, igniting their curiosity and passion for exploration and learning.
