We recently hosted the annual Leavers Dinner to celebrate the students who are leaving school and embarking on the next chapter of their lives. 🙌

We would like to send a huge thank you to Genesis Energy for their generous grant earlier this year! With their support, we were able to purchase brand-new microscopes for our science lab. 🧬🔬

Twizel Area School Prizegiving Assembly will take place on Friday, 13th December 2024 at the Twizel Events Centre, beginning at 10.30 am. 🏆 It is an opportunity for parents, caregivers and whānau members to join us and celebrate the students' achievements.

We are excited to share an opportunity for students to join a swim squad program designed to enhance their swimming skills, fitness, and confidence in the water. 🏊‍♀️

M4 students have spent the last two weeks using a career education resource called “The Real Game”. The game introduces students to the world of work and helps them develop an understanding of the options and opportunities available to them and the implications and importance of their choices.

Last week, we welcomed Harriet Bremner and her Think Safe Brain campaign to TAS. The day was incredibly successful, with students highly engaged and enthusiastic about learning essential safety skills.

Congratulations to the Twizel crew for some fantastic results at the Otago Secondary School Regatta and Erg Champs held at the North End Rowing Club. 🚣‍♀️

Junior swimming has officially begun, and our students have been making the most of the fantastic weather! 🌞🩳🏊‍♀️🩱 It’s wonderful to see the excitement and progress as our younger tamariki build their water confidence and skills.

Jordana, a dance educator from the Royal New Zealand Ballet, visited us this week to run ballet workshops. These were a fabulous taster for our students and challenged some of their fitness and willingness to try some challenging moves and leaps. 🩰

The Upper Waitaki and North Otago Athletics Days were recently held here in Twizel and in Oamaru. It was a great end to this year's athletics with some awesome results for TAS students.

TAS students recently had the exciting opportunity to attend the annual Science Roadshow, s a mobile science discovery centre that travels across NZ, bringing an array of captivating and interactive science and technology exhibits into communities like Twizel.

Over the past two terms, M3 have been creating a mural to enter in the 2024 Resene mural competition. Our theme was tūrangawaewae - what makes us who we are. 🖼️

During the school holidays, five students took part in the Aoraki Mountain Biking Champs at the Mt Hutt Bike Park. There were some great results from everyone who competed. 🚵‍♀️

Last Thursday, students, teachers, and the wider school community came together for the highly anticipated 2024 School Fun Run. With an exciting blend of vibrant color, music, and a few surprises, the day brought together everything we hoped.

Last week, Room 13 had a special visit from the Waldie family, who brought two adorable lambs, Lily and Sophie. 🐑

After the Term Three postponement, Netty Fest went ahead in Oamaru during the first week of term, with two groups of students from Years 5-8 taking part in the two-day event. 🏐
