A reminder as we look forward to 2024 about the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy adopted by Twizel Area School for students in years 7-13. 💻

The school is struggling to provide students with laptops and Chromebooks, with most of our devices being over four years old and starting to fail. In 2021 the school policy was that students starting Year 7 and Year 11 bring their own devices to school. By implementing this policy, in 2024, all students in Years 7-13 would bring their own devices to school.

Recognising the importance of students having their own devices needs to be a priority for parents and caregivers. In cases of extreme hardship, there are old school devices that students can use, but these are becoming more unstable, and it will come to the point that school devices may need to be shared in these year levels.
