The Board of Trustees would like to provide an update to students, staff, and the wider Twizel community on the search and recruitment process for our new Principal. Kia ora koutou,We’d like to take a moment to update you on the Principal recruitment process currently underway at Twizel Area School. We understand that leadership transitions can bring a sense of uncertainty, particularly when we all care deeply about the direction of our kura and the wellbeing of our tamariki and staff. Please be assured that the Board is committed to a process that is transparent, inclusive, and focused on finding the best possible leadership for our school. The full Board (including our newly elected Staff Representative), will have the opportunity to be involved at every stage of the process: shortlisting, interviews, and final decision-making. This ensures a balanced and representative approach that reflects our shared values and aspirations for Twizel Area School. As a Board, we are entrusted to act in the best interests of the entire school community—students, staff, whānau, and the wider community. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously, and we ask for your continued support and trust as we move forward. To foster openness and understanding, we will be hosting a Q&A session for staff, and the wider school community on Wednesday, 4 June, in the Boardroom over the lunch period. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the recruitment process, ask questions, and share any perspectives you’d like us to consider.Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school. Together, we can ensure the next chapter of leadership at Twizel Area School is one that continues to serve our learners and community with strength and vision.Ngā mihi nui,On behalf of the Twizel Area School Board of Trustees Search Committee,Nicola GrahamSharon BlanchardBruce Mincham
