The Science Roadshow was in full swing this week, with ākonga from Year 4-10 enjoying the ride. 🧫 🔬 👩‍🔬 Students were able to enjoy lots of hands-on exhibits with themes ranging from astronomy to ecology, the environment, and the human lab.

The Science Roadshow is a mobile, Science Discovery Centre. Annually it travels the length of New Zealand in a 15-metre truck and trailer, bringing a range of cool, interactive science and technology exhibits into communities. The mission of the Science Roadshow is to support science education in New Zealand schools through science outreach.

This year's themes are:

  • Astronomy — Te mātai arorangi
  • Ecology and the Environment — Te hauropi me te taiao
  • Gravity — Te tō-ā-papa
  • Heat — Te pōkākā
  • Human Lab — Te taiwhanga whakamātau āheinga tangata
  • Sound — Te oro

A reminder that some parents and caregivers have not paid for their child's participation in the Science Roadshow. The cost is $9 per student (not including helpers), if you're unsure if you have paid or not, please contact the school office. Without your support, awesome activities such as the Science Roadshow cannot happen at Twizel Area School. 😊😉😌
