Head and Deputy Students Billy and Fred wrap up Term Two and look forward to the National Area Schools Tournament and JSISS Netball taking place during the holidays.

Kia ora,

Another week has passed as we draw ever closer to lauded or loathed school holidays. While it might be a trying time for some, the two weeks at home are well-deserved for the student body. We applaud those who have tried their hardest this term and worked towards their learners' goals, cultivating and maintaining a school community that displays strong WAKA values. To all those just described, kia kaha, hore kau whakahauraro.

As we all know, the term ends on Friday, 30th June, so make sure all your uniforms are top-notch for the assemblies. But even though the term is ending, school activity persists anyhow. These holidays, from Monday the 3rd to Friday the 7th, the National Area School Tournament is held in Rangiora; skilled athletes from our school will be travelling to participate in this tournament. We wish these students the best of luck, not that luck has anything to do with it, but we know that they will play hard and be the best they can be. Additionally, from Monday the 3rd to Wednesday the 5th, the Junior South Island Secondary Schools Netball Tournament is taking place at Hagley Park in Christchurch. To any learners from the school attending this event, play hard!

That’s all for this term, relax well over the holidays and get ready for another term of hard-working starting on Monday the 17th of July.

Kia pai tō wiki!

Billy and Fred
