After a 2 year hiatus, the 2022 Aoraki Secondary Schools Skiing and Snowboard Championships were held this week at Mount Dobson. Twizel Area School were well represented by 14 students from various year groups, out of the approximately 150 students competing from around the region. As always, Twizel competed well and our students did themselves, and the school, proud. Congratulations to everyone who took part.Individual podium placings were:Emma Gardiner - 2ndJack McLellan - 3rdLouie Skinner - 1stThe snowboarders all made it to the semi-finals, and the Team came away with 2nd place: Shelton Taylor, Robert Marshall, Tye Baikie and Jaxon Shaw.We also had 2 other team placings in the mixed ski events: a 1st for the Year 11-13 Team of Louie Skinner, Daniel Thompson and Jack McLellan, and a 1st also for the Junior Mixed Ski Team of Emma Gardiner, Xavier Smith, Charlie McLellan and William Newlands.
