M1 students have been honing their artistic skills by learning how to shade and create texture using oil pastels. As part of their exploration, they have been applying these techniques to artwork inspired by their current topic—bees! Through blending colours, layering pastels, and experimenting with different strokes, students have been able to bring their bee-themed creations to life. They have used shading to add depth to their drawings of bees and hives, while texture techniques have helped them replicate the intricate patterns found in honeycombs and the soft, fuzzy appearance of bees. This project has allowed students to develop their artistic abilities while deepening their understanding of the vital role bees play in our environment. The vibrant and detailed artworks they have produced are a testament to their creativity and growing skill. We can’t wait to see more of their buzzing masterpieces!
