They played a Year 9/10 North Otago team, South Canterbury choose to bat first. 

The first wicket fell after 50 runs, then a player retired hurt after a bouncer to the head. Lachlan Munro started off with a hiss and a roar. Jack came into bat and supported him through to 50 and then onto 100 feeding him the strike. Jack made 18 runs and Lachlan and Jack had a 69 run partnership. The team went on to score 259 in 50 overs. The bowling then began with 4 quick wickets and North Otago ended on 19 for 4 when the rain set in and the match was abandoned.
