Loves Me Not, Rural Health and Rainbow Day

Kia Ora everyone,

This week was another busy week as always.

On Monday the Years 12 and 13 students had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Loves Me Not’ workshop which focussed on creating healthy relationships, knowing what consent is and who you can contact if you are in a controlling relationship. The workshop was a super valuable experience for all. Thank you to Mr Metcalfe and Mrs Schaar for organising this.

Loves Me Not

On Tuesday, some Yr 9 -Yr 13 students had the opportunity to talk and interact with 7 Rural Health students who are all studying in the health sector. Several of the students were training to be nurses, one was training to be a dentist and the other four were all in their fifth year of study to become a doctor. We got to learn things like how to take a patient's blood pressure and how to respond if someone falls unconscious. We were able to ask questions about the different courses they are doing, we also asked about the differences between uni life and school life and we were able to get some pretty awesome advice about choosing a career path. They reassured us that there is definitely no rush in choosing a career at all, just do something that you are super passionate about! Thank you to Mrs O'Carroll for organising this really helpful afternoon.

Just a reminder that the rainbow day has been postponed until next term. Have a great rest of your week!
