Last week, Twizel Area School enchanted audiences with its production of Seussical Jr. The show, staged over four nights, brought the magical world of Dr. Seuss to life through our students' vibrant portrayals of beloved characters. 🎠This year's format, with four performances, allowed junior classes to shine in larger roles, giving them a unique opportunity to both perform and watch the show. Their energetic portrayals of Horton the Elephant, Jojo, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie la Bird and the Cat in the Hat received rave reviews, showcasing their skills in singing, dancing, and acting. Many students experienced their first production, navigating the challenges of bringing a performance to life with determination and enthusiasm. From memorising lines to mastering choreography, they delivered impressive performances that showed their growth and talent.Key to the production's success was the guidance from Senior Music and Drama students. Their experience in past productions allowed them to mentor the juniors, providing crucial support on stage and behind the scenes. Their leadership ensured that the production ran smoothly and that the junior students felt confident in their roles. The audience’s response was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the students' talent and the high quality of the show. This production revealed promising new talent, indicating a bright future for Twizel Area School’s future productions. We look forward to the next show in 2026.
