Deputy Head Student Ella Ferguson wraps up the last couple of weeks and looks forward to the end of, what's been, a jam-packed term. Can you believe it? We're already in week nine and almost halfway through the year. Time really flies, and my tenure at TAS is nearing its end š¬. Since our last newsletter, a lot has happened. We've had several exciting events, starting with the Meridian Hydro Careers Day for M4 Students, which introduced students to career opportunities in the hydroelectric industry. This was followed by the M4 Employability Program, a series of workshops designed to enhance students' job readiness and employability skills. Another highlight was our Non-Uniform Day - Dress as Your Sports Idol, where students came dressed as their favourite athletes, showcasing creativity and raising money for the National Area School students. The grand finale was the School Production of Seussical Jr, where our talented students put on an incredible performance, displaying their hard work and dedication.Looking ahead, we have a busy couple of weeks. Today, a selection of students will participate in the Jump Jam Extravaganza in Timaru, a high-energy fitness event that promises to be a lot of fun. We’ll also have a day off tomorrow to celebrate Matariki, honouring the MÄori New Year with a day of reflection and celebration. Another Non-Uniform Day is scheduled to fundraise for the National Area School students, a chance to dress up as your favourite Disney character. We’ll also be capturing memories with School Photos, and finally, we’ll mark the end of another busy and productive term with the End of Term Assemblies. It’s going to be a packed couple of weeks, but I'm sure everyone will enjoy the activities and events we have planned. I hope you all have a fantastic end of term and a restful holiday.Ella Ferguson,Deputy Head Student
