Head Student Louie Skinner has news including National Area Schools fundraisers and Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Kia ora and welcome back everyone to week seven!. Term 2 is already starting to end! I hope everyone enjoyed waking up to the snow on Monday morning. Many students enjoyed spending their lunch times out in the fresh snow.

This Friday the school is having a non-uniform day to fundraise for the South of the South nationals team. They have a long way to travel, all the way up to Whangārei. So every coin counts! There are also two ongoing raffle ticket sales to fundraise for the students going and there are some awesome prizes such as sky diving and Tekapo Hot Pools vouchers so make sure to check those out! There may also be a sausage sizzle happening.

In the upcoming weeks, the junior school will be busy getting ready for their Junior Drama Festival. Can't wait to see all the great performances the classes will put on! Parent-teacher conferences are also coming up next week, students and teachers are already preparing for those. Make sure you get in those last few assessments!

Don’t forget this Sunday at the events centre, there is a ski and snowboard gear sale for anyone who is gearing up for the winter or anyone who wants to get rid of any second-hand gear. Could be a great time to get some needed gear for Snow club. Which will start early next term. I know many students are looking forward to that!

The weather has turned much colder as we move into winter, so make sure to bring Kai wrapped in tinfoil, for the Kai warmer to have hot lunches.

To all who are sick or isolating at home, take care and we wish you well.

Cheers,
Louie Skinner
