Head and Deputy Students, Billy and Fred, look forward to a busy couple of weeks with the Southern Area Schools Tournament in Lawrence, and the Otago Tertiary Open Days.

Kia ora,

We hope everyone is having a great week so far, after a first week that was almost more off than on, it’s good to be back for a full week of hard school work. We’ve had some pretty exciting things going on already despite the short time this term has been around. Earlier this week students got attendance awards to congratulate them on an attendance rate of over 90% in Term One. Again, congratulations to those students who continually make a commitment to come to school every day. 👍 🥳

Today M4 travelled to the Tekapo Power station to develop their understanding of renewable energy and maybe to inspire some to go down that career path.

On Monday next week, we have the opportunity to take some Year 12 and 13 students to Otago University and Polytechnic for their Open Days. This is a fun, yearly event where our oldest students get to have a sneak peek into their near future, how exciting!

Dunedin Tertiary Open Days

Next week from Wednesday, the Southern Area Schools Tournament is starting, this year in Lawrence. Good luck to all the students going this year, you have the support of the entire school behind you! You can keep up-to-date with the goings on in Lawrence through our new Facebook Sports Group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/twizelareaschoolsport

A reminder to all students that language is becoming an issue as of late. The language used in the corridors and to teachers has been unacceptable recently and we are looking for this to be improved.

That’s all for this week! Again, good luck to the students competing in the SAS Tournament. Kia Kaha!

Kia pai tō wiki!

Head and Deputy Students,
Billy and Fred
