Last Friday, the Fun Run at Twizel Area School was exciting and energetic. Students, teachers, and the community joined forces to celebrate fitness and participation. Participants of all ages raced through the colour stations, displaying determination and, most importantly, fun!

This Fun Run was in partnership with School Fun Run to raise funds for new school equipment. Children who actively participated in fundraising efforts were rewarded with the option to select a prize for their hard work. It's worth noting that approximately 60% of the funds raised directly benefit the school, while the remaining proceeds cover event expenses and prizes. The remarkable dedication of the students resulted in a phenomenal fundraising total of $8,640. If you wish to contribute, you still have the opportunity to do so until the event officially closes on October 29.

Special appreciation goes out to Dwayne and Deon for their surprise contribution of a Fire Tanker, creating a playful arch of water for students to slip and slide through, and a big thank you to Sport South Canterbury for providing the starting line arch.

The day concluded with a Tug of War house competition, with Ruataniwha winning the Year 1-6 category and Ōhau winning the Year 7-13 category. There were two special matches, Ex-Students vs. Year 11-13 (Ex-Students won), and Teachers vs. Year 10-13 (Year 10-13 won).
