Head Student Sadie Mason reviews the last couple of weeks and looks forward to the events coming up, including athletics and rowing.

Kia ora students, whānau and community. My name is Sadie Mason, and I am one of your head students for 2025. I hope all that attended the Cavalcade had a spectacular time. It sure looked like a great day out!

I am very excited to be writing the newsletter for this past fortnight as we have had lots of amazing events!

Firstly, we had house athletics a couple of weeks back, and it was so awesome to see everyone out there giving it their all and going out of their comfort zones. I hope any family members and supporters who attended had a fantastic day spectating. Unfortunately, we haven’t calculated all the points yet, but we’ll be sure to tell you as soon as they do.

We had many great athletes competing in the triathlon held by Sports Twizel. Huge congratulations to all who participated!

The welcome bbq occurred this Monday, and it was a great success!  Thank you to everyone who managed to attend! It was an awesome event providing a great opportunity to meet and greet the new whānau, students and teachers joining our school.

Coming up this week, we have Country High Schools Athletics today at Opihi College with our senior/ middle school students attending. Good luck to all athletes competing! School rowing has started, and Lake Ruataniwha will host South Island Secondary Schools this weekend. We have 6 rowers competing, and we wish you the best!

I hope you have a great week!
