Twizel Area School was invited to participate in the Upper Clutha Primary/Intermediate Schools Races at Cardrona Alpine Resort. We entered 5 teams of 3 or 4 students who competed in a field of 276 from all over the country! ⛷🎿 The well-organised race was set up as 2 courses, running simultaneously, but timed individually.The weather was marginal at times, as the fog came in and out, but it cleared mid-afternoon for the children and their parents to do some free skiing before the prize giving.All children did super well. We even had a podium placement! Tye Baikie won the snowboard event; he did an awesome job through the race course, completing 2 faultless runs. Congratulations Tye!A special mention again for Tallulah, who was allocated a guide from Cardrona, with a headset to lead her through the course. She did really well!Thank you to the parents, for their help on the hill and with transport; you are the best 😇
