The students in Room 4 do not have set buddies and each week interact with different kids at kindy. It is a highlight of the Room 4 week. This week we wrote about our experiences as part of our writing programme. Keep reading for what some of the Room 4 students have to say about visiting Kindy.

Pippa Burke
When we visit kindy it brings us lots of joy to see all the kids. We love to play and read our picture books with them every Friday. Last week we had lunch with them. Me and my buddy played with the lego then she went inside. After lunch we had to go back to school - we were all sad to leave.

On Friday every week we go to kindy and we choose a buddy. We read to them. Last Friday we had lunch with all the kindy kids and sat under a tree. We play on the monkey bars and we are always very sad to leave kindy. They are very nice kids.

I like visiting kindy because we can play with the animals and that’s really fun. We go to kindy every Friday if there’s good weather. We read picture books to our buddies. And then we play together but it is their choice if they want to do something. There are swings and there is a sandpit. Last week we went to kindy and we had lunch there. At kindy they have guinea pigs and turtles and chickens. My buddy is normally my brother Abe. We have lots of fun at kindy.

At kindy I read to the kids and play with them. The book I read is called War and Peace. It is a picture book. When I play with my buddy I follow him and what he does I do. This year I got the same buddy two times in a row - his name is Alex too. Last Friday we went later so we could have lunch with them. It was fun.

Every Friday we visit kindy to read and play with the little kids. We read them a picture book and then play. There are also animals at kindy. There are chickens, turtles, and guinea pigs. We can play on toy wooden trucks or at the sandpit or playground. We choose a different buddy each time. Inside there are blocks to play with and an arts and crafts space. One Friday we had lunch there and sat around the tree and played for longer. The turtles have a big enclosure with a tunnel leading to another tunnel.

Every week on Friday we go to kindy. We pick a buddy and they say “yes” or “no.” First we read a book. After that the kindy kids pick what we do next. They have pets such as turtles, guinea pigs, and chickens. The kindy kids are super fun and if they run away they want to play “chassy.” They also have a treehouse with a swing. It is a net one.

I love visiting the kindy. We go every Friday. We have buddies. They decide what we do. We read them picture books. There are animals like turtles and chickens, also guinea pigs. We always play on the swing and slide. We go to kindy after morning tea. There are a lot of kids.

The kindy kids like playing on the swings. I like stroking the soft guinea pigs. I like reading the picture books. Last week I had lunch at kindy. I see Carol, Adrianne, and Penny. I like the slimy turtles and how I can pick them up.

Every Friday we go to kindy but if we have something on at school we can’t go. When we go we read to them and after we have read to them we go and play but we have to do what they want to do. We go on the swings and we can also look at the animals. They have turtles, chickens, and guinea pigs. It is so cool to go and see the kindy kids and play with them.

We get to go to kindy every week and we pick a buddy and we read to them. We play on the swing. Last time we stayed there until lunch time. Kindy is so much fun. We get to see the pets. They have guinea pigs and they have turtles and they have some chickens. Visiting kindy is so cool.
