Two of our Year 12 music students Lily Brophy and Louie Skinner, are off to Christchurch, to the inaugural Area Schools Association Music Camp in the first week of the holidays. There, they will meet up with music students from other Area schools, to korero, compose, play instruments and sing...ie form bands and make music. Staying at the YMCA,[ Tuesday to Friday] they will walk each day to the Venue Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery, a state area school established by the merging of two separate Christchurch inner-city schools; the primary school Discovery 1 and the secondary school Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti. On Thursday evening the bands will perform in a concert, which will hopefully be live-streamed.We wish Lily and Louie all the best as they enjoy new experiences, meet new challenges and continue to follow one of their passions...music!
