Term 2 news from the Junior School, including reminders about toys, assemblies, and contacting teachers.

The term has started with gusto and the students are all enjoying being back with their friends at school.

Term 2 always brings with it challenges with the weather as winter starts to creep up on us. Please remember to dress your students appropriately for the weather conditions. Make sure they have warm school jerseys or jackets to put on if needed.

The students are doing so well with displaying our School WAKA values.  It was wonderful to see some of the students acknowledged for their hard work in displaying these values when they were awarded their first badge. Great work Keziah, Henry and Pippa  We also appreciate the help of parents in reiterating and displaying these values at home and out in the community.

Our PALS leaders have been busy working behind the scenes and are gearing up to introduce some new play equipment into the Junior School end of the playground.  It looks like it is going to be very exciting for our students.

It is fabulous to see the students enjoying the lunchboxes full of healthy food, but a reminder that there are to be no lollies or nuts in lunchboxes. This is for the safety of everyone. It is also good to have a full drink bottle of water to ensure your student stays hydrated.

Toys

Students from Room 9 through to Room 5 are asked to please leave their toys at home.  These can cause issues in class or on the playground. It is really important to note this as these are starting to creep in again.

Junior Assemblies

Junior assemblies for Term 2 started on Friday, 5th May.  Join us in the Theatre at the Events Centre at 12 noon each Friday afternoon. This term each class will be leading an assembly beginning on May 19th. Below is a timetable so that you can see when each class will be leading their assembly.

We are also a device-free school so it is important that parents are aware of this and are engaging in assemblies without technology interrupting. Taking photos and videos of your own children is fine. The teachers also take photos which you can then access through the newsletters.
