Ākonga in M1 and M2 have been using Electronic Brain Boxes to create electrical circuits in Science this week. The Brain Boxes are designed to teach students about motors, switches, sound and light and fits perfectly into their current Science learning about power.

Using the Brain Boxes students learn about resistance, voltage, current and the relation between them, as well as doing exciting experiments by simply snapping the components together! Students learn about electricity and circuits while creating real-life examples. It's been a great way to promote critical thinking, problem-solving and fine motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination while ākonga can see electricity around them and understand how electricity and electrical appliances work – it’s not magic!
