Twizel Area School Yr 1-10 Cross Country

Cross Country for Years 1-10 will be on Thursday, 25th July, starting at 1.30 pm. The Cross Country Track will be located at the Twizel River, and students will walk in classes to the top of the river track.

Senior students and parent helpers will be around the running track to direct and supervise children.

Students will run in their age groups and be separated into Boys and Girls. The top 6 students from each age group will be selected to compete at the Upper Waitaki Cross Country in Omarama on Monday, 5th August.

If parents wish to attend Cross Country, we ask that you park along Glen Lyon Road and not block the entrance to the River Track. Please stand behind the fenced-off area.

If you are willing to help Marshall along the track, please put your name down at the School Office.


Upper Waitaki Cross Country | Omarama Year 1-8

Monday, 5th August - Omarama Sale Yards 

The top 6 students from each age group will be attending - results pending from TAS Cross Country. There will be baking and sausages available for purchase.

Race distances:

  • Year 0-3 1200m
  • Year4-6 2000m
  • Year 7-8 2500m 

Notices for this event will come out directly after the TAS Cross Country. Students will be transported via School vehicles and parent transport.

A reminder that parents need to be police Vetted to transport other students. If you wish to be Police Vetted, you can collect a form from the school office or download one here. The Police Vetting process is currently taking 4-6 weeks.
