Last Friday, we sent 28 students down to Oamaru to compete at the Year 3-8 North Otago Rippa Rugby competition.

All teams competed extremely well against the tough competition!

Our Year 3-4 group were up against 11 other teams. In their first game they took a tough loss, although it was a high scoring game with lots fast breaks and tries being scored on both ends. Their second game they came away with a convincing win.

The Year 5-6 had a large competion, up against 20 other team’s. They started off the morning with a couple of loses, before finding their footing to take out a couple of wins. The speedy trio Henry Waldie, Henry Scarlett and Ryder Heremaia took out multiple tries throughout the day.

The Year 7-8 squad also up against 20 other teams, having a strong pool play. Despite this they consistently kept up with the competion by gaining multiple draws, just falling short to the semi final play offs.

All students participated well, it was a pleasure to take such a great bunch down to represent the school!

A massive thank you to all the parents who volunteered with transport or came to support the Twizel athletes at this competition, we couldn’t do it without you! 🏉
