Deputy Head Student Ella looks forward to the upcoming Senior Formal, plus a reminder about Derived Grade Exams happening this week. Kia ora everyone. Welcome back to our final weeks of term three. This week, we have our Netball team at the South Island Secondary Schools (SISS) tournament in Christchurch and our Basketball team at the SISS tournament in Timaru.I am excited to announce an update for the formal. The Senior Formal is now being hosted by Poppies Cafe and Bar. I look forward to seeing everyone there; I’m sure it will be a great night. Last week was Daffodil Day, in support of the New Zealand Cancer Society. I am proud to say we raised over $200 in support of the cause. I wish good luck to all our senior students sitting their school exams over the next couple of weeks and to our students who are attempting the next round of the Literacy and Numeracy Co-Requisites. A reminder to everyone about being quiet when around the Multi-Purpose Room and Computer Lab.I would like to congratulate Mackenzie Dunnicliff, our new Board of Trustees student representative for 2024/25.The three Houses have now received a counter box; this is a new uniform initiative across the middle and senior schools. If a student is wearing the correct uniform during House time, they will receive a counter. At the end of the term, the house with the most counters will get some sort of reward, of their choosing. There will also be spot checks throughout the day, giving more chances to get counters - so keep wearing your uniform with pride! House points at the moment. Pūkaki are in first place, with Ruataniwha in second and Ōhau in third.Ngā mihi,Ella FergusonDeputy Head Student
