Room 7 and 8 End of Year Celebration

ฤ€konga from Rooms 7 & 8 joined together on Wednesday to celebrate the year and spend some time together. ๐Ÿฅณ They had a blowing-up-a-balloon race, balloon races, running races, shared kai, including popcorn, hot chips and bread, and a wee treat in the afternoon! ๐ŸŽˆ ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿฟ

Room 7 Persuasive Writing

This week, Mrs Staniford received some persuasive writing letters from Room 7 ฤkonga. They ranged from wishing for a school disco, and bringing your 'wheels' to school, to wearing your slippers in class! ๐Ÿชฉ ๐Ÿ›ด ๐Ÿฅฟ However, Mrs Staniford's reply surprised everyone!

Sun Shines for Upper Waitaki Athletics

Whanau Island Kayak Trip

Five Year 12 and 13 students spent two days kayaking from Sailors Cutting through to Ohau C, with an overnight on Whanau Island this week. ๐Ÿšฃโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿž The students planned the trip and the risk management themselves, going towards two NCEA Achievement Standards.

St John in Schools Programme

We welcomed the St John in Schools programme to Twizel Area School this week. ฤ€konga in Years 1-8 have learned things including how to make an emergency call and how to perform effective CPR. ๐Ÿš‘ The programme has been developed with expertise from ACC, SafeKids Aotearoa, Civil Defence, CORE Education and St John and supports todayโ€™s school curriculum.

Students Dress Up for KidsCan

Monday this week was Dress-Up Day at Twizel Area School. Tamariki, rangatahi and kaiako were encouraged to dress in whatever costume, outfit or clothes they desired...all for the good cause of KidsCan New Zealand.
