Once again, we have an abundance of unnamed Lost Property left at school that needs to be collected. This includes a multitude of sweaters, shirts, and even shoes & hats!

The Room 5 & 7 Jump Jammers are holding a Non-Uniform Day next Wednesday, 28th September, to raise money for the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ. Come to school dressed in your brightest colours, ready to do some Jump Jammin!

Do you have your motorcycle license, learner, restricted or full and a road legal motorcycle? Would you be interested in an 8-hour Ride Forever safe riding course? 🏍 The Ride Forever team from Wanaka are keen to run one of their courses in Twizel before Christmas.

Just a reminder that Monday, 26th September is Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Day, a day for us to remember and celebrate the late Queen's life. School will be closed so enjoy your long weekend and we will see you all on Tuesday!

Room 8 student Oliver Currall gathered his friends and family for a Clean Up event on Saturday last week at the Twizel River. Clean Up Week is part of the Keep New Zealand Beautiful initiative, with Oliver's event being a great success!

Friday was Fried Bread | Pāraoa Parai Friday at Twizel Area School. Students joined with teachers and members of our school community to make over 500 portions of fried bread, enjoyed by everyone!

Classes enjoyed a Te Wiki o te Reo Māori Treasure Hunt on Taonga | Tuesday, with the aim for ākonga to learn some new words and a Whakataukī.

As part of Te wiki o te reo Māori, we held a House Waiata Competition yesterday afternoon. Everything fell into place and the Twizel Area School ākonga pulled off an amazing event. Ka pai!

Next week is Clean Up Week and Room 8 student Oliver Currall has decided to organise his very own Clean Up Event focusing on areas around the Twizel River, Ruataniwha and the land opposite the main entrance. Meet at 10 am this Saturday at the Nuns Veil entrance of the Twizel River to help Oliver make Twizel a little cleaner for everyone!

Last week Lilly Brophy and Diego Santiago went to Akaroa to take part in an opportunity to meet their peers from around Te Waipounamu and to learn about many historical events that took place in Akaroa.
