Full Steam Ahead with DMIC Maths Programme

Lily & Louie Receive Area School Awards

Lily Brophy and Louie Skinner were both acknowledged for their all-round performance with Student Awards at last week's Area Schools Conference. They received their awards at an assembly in front of Year 7-13 students, this week.

Netballs, Tutus and a Well Earned Prize!

This week saw the Year 7/8 netballers take part in the Netty Festival at Dunedin's Edgar Centre. It was a great day with a lot of fun to be had and an extra special prize at the end!

Junior Assembly Welcomes Back Whānau

Room 5 Mōkihi Research

Ākonga from Room 5 have this week been researching Taieke Pukurakau who lived most of his life on the Waitaki. He used mōkihi to travel the Waitaki and the students have been researching and answering the questions about mōkihi.

PJ Day at TAS

Yesterday was PJ Day at Twizel Area School, all in aid of raising money for Monique's Young Enterprise Scheme Gold Tiki project. It was awesome to see the TAS whānau supporting a fabulous fundraiser and the perfect excuse to wear your PJs all day!

Room 5 Dodge the Showers at Tekapo

Room 5 ākonga made it to Tekapo Springs for their ice skating day on Tuesday, although they still had to dodge a few rain showers. Ms McAuley said, "we only got rained on for 20 minutes"! Room 8 were also at Tekapo this week for their rescheduled trip. ā„ļø ā›ø šŸ„¶

All Smiles on Cross Country Day

On Tuesday approximately 70 Year 1-8 students, along with their support crew of parents and teachers, attended the Waitaki Valley Cross Country at the Sales Yards at Omarama Station. All students ran extremely well and were incredible ambassadors for our school.

Netball Season Ends on a High

The Twizel Junior netball teams wrapped up their their season last weekend, while the Senior team heads to finals. It's been a great year and a relief to have a full season, especially after 2021!

Mackenzie Schools Ski Race Day 2022

Te Haunui Tuna | A Korero With M1

This week, M1 students were lucky enough to have a korero via Zoom with Te Haunui Tuna from Ngai TÅ«hoe. His journey in art and illustration began when he was just three years old and he went on to graduate from Te Kuratini o Waikato with a Bachelor in Media Arts. Truly inspiring!
