The Community Dental Service will be providing dental care for children enrolled with the service during the upcoming school holidays. The clinics will offer treatment and relief of pain sessions by appointment only. 🦷🪥

This week, students in Rooms 4 and 5 participated in the Internal Schools EPro8 Challenge, with the main objective of the challenge being to construct a Dunking Machine. This required teams to work together effectively, following specific criteria in order to complete the challenge.

Today was a little disruptive with the strike action being called off at quite a late notice; this meant that we only had a few students in M4 today. What a great chance to get some good teamwork happening!

Year 12 student Finn has a passion for computer programming and automation. He is fortunate to attend Meridian Energy as part of his Gateway experience and sit alongside programmers and automation engineers to see what his interest looks like in the real world.

Last week's Junior Assembly was a bumper edition with two students awarded their Awhinataka WAKA badge, and three more awarded their Ārahi badge. What an effort! 👍

The Junior class trips to the Dark Sky Project in Tekapo continued this week with Room 8 students learning about the night sky in Te Manahuna. 🌌

In conjunction with Connexis, Meridian held its annual Girls in Hi-Vis Day last Thursday. The event is national wide and allows female students to gain hands-on experience, hear from inspirational women in the industry and learn what a career in the infrastructure's civil, energy, telco and water industries can offer.

National Area Schools recently held its highly anticipated training day, a spirited event that brought together students from the Otago region to showcase their athletic ability. 🏀 🏃🏼‍♂️
