It was the turn of M3 to go on camp to the South Temple Hut last week. 🏕️ You can read all about it from Year 9 student Jazmine Baikie's perspective, she took some pretty cool photos too!

Yug Thapa continued on his journey to a career as a tennis player last weekend, winning the 2023 Highgate Partners Otago Junior Tennis Open! 🎾

Eight students represented Twizel Area School at the Aoraki Athletics held in Ashburton last week. Schools from around the South Canterbury region as well as Waitaki Boys and Girls and St Kevins come together to compete.

Three actors from 'The Ugly Shakespeare Company' performed for the students from Year Five to Thirteen on Wednesday, March 15th. Their play, 'The Dream', was an interpretation of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', with the three actors playing a combination of 15 roles in the 50 minute performance. 🎭

Room 13 students had some Friday fun last week creating different animals out of paper mache (papier-mâché)! They created animals of all kinds including penguins, bunnies, kiwis and snakes! 🐧🐰🐍

Last Friday a group of 22 students travelled to Aoraki Mount Cook School for the opening of their new school. This was a celebration with the local schools from across Te Manahuna, students travelling from as far as Albury. 🏔️

The rowing season continued last weekend with the South Island Secondary Schools (SISS) Regatta and as has been the case all season long, the Twizel crews did not disappoint. With thanks to community members and organisations, they are now planning their trip to the Maadi Cup at Lake Karāpiro.

Room 8 students were using their school WAKA Values of Whānaukataka ( Participation and Contribution)and Awhinataka (being inclusive) in class this week! 🤗 👀

Twizel Area School students continued their amazing run of results when a select few competed in the Country High School Athletics Day last week!🏃🏼‍♂️

Four students from Twizel Area School took part in the PALs (Physical Activity Leaders) Leadership Programme in Timaru this week. 🏀 ⚽️ 👍

M4 students ventured out on their annual camp last week, tramping from Lake Ōhau to Freehold, and back to Huxley Lodge. 🏕️ 🥾 As you'll see, a great time was had by all.

Twenty swimmers from Twizel Area School competed in the Upper Waitaki Swimming Competition in Kurow last Friday, with some awesome results. 🏊‍♀️ 🩳 🙌

Junior School ākonga put on their Swimming Display for caregivers and whānau members on Monday afternoon. 🏊‍♀️

Friday, 17th March is the Kāhui Ako Jumbo Day, meaning there will be no classes for Year 1-12 students.
