Congratulations to our Star Students from last week's Junior Assemblies. They were presented with their award and WAKA Value card.

During the last year or two, many of us discovered what our children, and especially our teenagers, had known for a long time – technology, and social media in particular, is a great way to stay connected with others and to maintain, and even strengthen, relationships.

Room 5 ākonga have been working hard designing their CO2 dragsters, little cars that students can design, build, test, modify and race!

There are still a lot of students who haven't returned their Southern Area Schools Tournament sports uniforms.

Last week Twizel Area School welcomed close to two hundred students from across the South of the South Island to participate in the 2022 SAS Tournament. It was an awesome event that celebrated everything great about Area Schools.

Do your tamariki or rangatahi play online games? Do you know what's safe and what isn't? Netsafe has created the Online Gaming Whanāu Toolkit to help parents and caregivers get to a place where they are confident to engage with their children on the world of gaming.

The Kai Warmer is now available for the winter. Students can bring their food to be heated for lunchtime during the colder weather months.

Ākonga in Room 4 have, this week, been looking at the artwork of Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.

Deputy Head Student Lily Brophy has news about the Area Schools Tournament and Pink Shirt Day.

Twizel Area School turned pink this week to support Bully Free Week and Pink Shirt Day. Donations of cans and non-perishable food were also delivered to our local Food Bank as part of the ‘Give What you Can Appeal’.

Ākonga in Room 8 have been preparing for the Area Schools Tournament this week by creating paper chains and banners to welcome Roxburgh Area School.
