The Twizel Devils Yr 5-6 Rippa Team had a fantastic day up in Timaru for the annual Yr 5-6 Rippa Rugby Tournament. Despite the early morning start all members played exceptionally well. 🏉

Students in M4 have been taking part in the Work Ready Program this term, learning about applying for work, workers' rights, and more. This week they went to Top Hut in Twizel to learn about work in the hospitality industry. 👩‍🍳 🍽️ ☕️

The Year 11 students enjoyed a trip to Timaru yesterday to attend the Year 11 Pathways Expo. The Pathways Expo is about bringing together businesses and organisations from around the area and giving students the chance to learn about possible career pathways within that organisation.

Room 8 students have been demonstrating their WAKA values through many activities and also working through the Kindness Bingo, culminating in a reward on Friday.

The Southern Area Schools Tournament was a whirlwind event that took place last week at Lawrance Area School. A total of 30 athletes representing our school travelled down to Lawrance to participate in the thrilling three-day tournament, filled with a variety of sports.

Twizel Area School welcomed Chris Long, author of The Boy from Gorge River last week. He talked to students in Years 3-9 about his book, life, and travels.

In the past week, students in M3 had the opportunity to engage in a hands-on learning experience focused on understanding forces acting on objects. This was achieved through a combination of trial and error, group work, and collaboration. Utilizing their collective creativity and intuitive thinking, the students embarked on designing and testing various structural ideas.👨‍🔬

It was a great trip down to Dunedin for interested Year 13 students to visit the University and Polytech, this week. 🎓

Room 5 students have been working on a project centred around the theme of "Do the right thing!" The project is focused on utilising information and communication technology (ICT) and is designed as a challenge for the students across the Junior and Middle School classes.🎥
