After bringing Touch Rugby back into school last year we now have a large mixed team of talented players ranging from year 8-13. This season we have entered a Twizel Area School team into the newly formed Twilight Touch comp that is held on Thursday evenings.

Last week, we were fortunate to receive generous donations from Mel Schuar, Anneke Smit, and Brooke Smith. They contributed gardening equipment and an assortment of seeds to benefit the students in Room 9.

The awards for our students keep coming this week. On Tuesday, Finn McKinley and Monique van der Westhuizen travelled to Timaru to attend the South Canterbury YES Regional Finals!

Following on from the regional awards, Monique gained entry to the National Awards which were held in Auckland last week.

Head Student Billy has some reminders about tomorrow's School Fun Run, Labour Day, and the forthcoming NCEA Exams.

This week, the Junior tamariki enjoyed diverse activities, from dog walking, arts and crafts, board games, flower planting, sports, and creation time. Not only does this foster their physical, emotional, and social well-being, but it also allows them to explore their passions and interests.

We are delighted to have been shared in an article that Meridian has just put up featuring a past student, Pearl Campomanes. Pearl was only with us for two years but in that time she made her mark in our school, being an outstanding online student studying Electrical Engineering and becoming our school Dux.

Over the past term M3 was involved in a Market Day Project as part of their Year 9 Social Sciences course. This project enabled students to work in small groups to plan and run a short-term business enterprise. They developed their own stall ideas and worked cooperatively with their group to produce, market and sell their product(s).

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that three of our Year 13 students have been awarded scholarships to Otago University for 2024.

Deputy Head student Emily has some reminders to start the term, including next week's Fun Run and the M1 Camp.

Students from Rooms 9 and 13 are delving into the fascinating world of endangered species this term, learning about the Kiwi and making some awesome artwork.

In preparation for 2024, Year 10, 11 and 12 students returning in 2023 are invited to the NCEA Course Information Evening with their parents/caregivers.

A busy Term 3 is now at an end, teachers and students can look forward to a well-earned rest and a battery recharge!

Last Saturday, September 16th, Mason Crawford and Charlie McLellan headed to Herbert Forest for an adrenaline filled day at the Aoraki Mountain Biking.

Last Friday, September 15th, the Senior and Junior Snow clubs came together to compete in the Ōhau Ski Races. It was a great way to end the season!
