Why Does Attendance Matter?

Some whānau members have recently asked about student attendance and what circumstances equate to legitimate time away from school. Here is the Ministry of Education’s guidelines for parents regarding attendance and why it matters.

Balloons and Ping-Pong Launchers

This term ākonga from M1 and M2 are completing the Wonder Project's 'Power Challenge' learning how we power our towns, and designing & building their own windmills to power a mini town. They've also made ping pong ball launchers using paper cups and balloons!

Cross Country Prep

In Term Two our Year 8 ākonga (M2) learned about a Māori wahine from the Lake Kaniere / Hokitika area who travelled alone over Ka Tiritiri Ka Te Moana the Southern Alps, discovering a pass that became known as Nōti Raureka and later as Browning Pass.

National Area Schools Tournament 2022

The National Area Schools Tournament was held in Whangārei during the school holidays with 9 TAS students attending, accompanied by Chelsea, Karatī and Mark. The students represented Twizel Area School with pride during the 4 days of competition, showing their WAKA values while doing so!
