As part of Room 13 students' term 4 topic on Antarctica, the whole class has been involved in making a fantastic 3D papier-mâché Antarctic map. 🐧 🧊 In the final, full week of school for the year, it has been completed. Ka pai to everyone for their hard work!

M4 ākonga have completed their Goldfield Projects this week, after visiting Cromwell earlier this term to deepen their understanding of the consequences of the 1860’s gold discoveries in Otago. ⛏️ 🌟 Students shared their projects with Juniors who were very interested in a fascinating period of New Zealand history.

Junior classes have, this week, enjoyed some tennis skills and coaching with thanks going to South Canterbury Tennis coach Steve Dries. 🎾 👟 Watch out for the next Roger Federer and Venus Williams in the making!

Ākonga in Year 7-10 have enjoyed their Outdoor Education Week activities so far this week. With water and tramping activities completed, it will be onto the Challenge and Expedition Days to finish the week. 👍 🥾 🛶 What an awesome end to the year once again!

NZ Police arrived at Twizel Area School yesterday afternoon with a hiss and a roar, and despite the rain gave a great display of their skills. 🚔 👮‍♀️ They even bought along some furry friends! 🐕‍🦺

Touch Rugby arrived in Twizel this week, organised by Mr Metcalfe, Ms Blanchard and Miss Smith. 🏉 Four mixed teams from Years 7 to 13 were put up for a Touch challenge in a very competitive round-robin series and despite the inconsistent weather, it was great to see so many students getting involved!

Last week's two Junior School discos, arranged by our Home & School Committee, were a raging success with over 100 tamariki getting their dancing shoes on at the Twizel Bowling Club! 🪩 💃 🕺

The North Otago Athletics were held this week at Centennial Park in Oamaru with Twizel Area School students producing some amazing results. A massive thank you to Bevan Newlands and the parents who attended with tamariki.

The New Zealand Secondary School Photography Competition is thrilled to announce the fourth year of its competition! 📷 The competition will see year 9 to year 13 students submit up to three unique photos to be adjudicated by a panel of the Photographic Society of New Zealand's accredited judges.
