Kia ora e te whānau,
Thank you to all the parents who have booked appointments to discuss their child’s progress with their homeroom teacher or NCEA Mentor. Just over half of all parents have completed this process. The Parent/Teacher/Student Conference Meetings will be held between 9 am and 7 pm on Thursday, 23rd June. You can book your 20-minute meeting by following the instructions later in this newsletter. Don’t forget to take a moment on the Conference day to visit our Matariki Exhibition and join us for a coffee in the Foods Room. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
Congratulations to our students returning from the SGCNZ Drama Competition in Wellington. Lily Brophy, Louie Skinner and Monique van der Westhuizen represented the school with pride. Their group won awards for Best Music and Most Effective Design. Lily Brophy was awarded Outstanding Performance. This qualifies her to progress to the next round of the competition. They presented at assembly this morning (as well as our Leadership Camp Students - Brandon Anderson, Daniel Thompson and Billy Garbutt) and were able to thank all those involved in their success. On staff, this included Kay and Neil Potter, Anne Sweney, Nyree Schaar and John van Mulbregt.
Please be aware that, across the school, we are experiencing an increase in reported covid cases, please continue to monitor your child(ren) for symptoms. This week, we have a number of staff either isolating or unwell. We are working on the basis of day-to-day review in order to ensure we have enough staff to maintain the Health and Safety of all students. In the circumstance that we do not have enough suitably qualified staff available, we are likely to ask a cohort to work from home. We will update the community if this situation were to arise.
He waka eke noa,
Kate Staniford Tumuaki | Principal
